In other news, a dictator is still dead
Fifteen years ago today, the former leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, died. As a child of the 80s, his mere image on television scared the bejesus out of me. Of course, there was more than his image to be frightened about, particularly his policies in Iran and the fact that he executed many of his enemies.
So regardless of how scary he appeared to me, he couldn't have been as scary as he was to those actually living IN the country of Iran.
Still, I am bothered by his picture. Look at this picture
