LeBron's deal for three years?
That's what sources have told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. Take it with a few spoonfulls of salt.
UPDATE
The report is "premature and flawed" according to Brian Windhorst of the Beacon. As soon as you see the name "Stephen A. Smith" behind a report, you're best assuming that's the case.

We'll know a lot more on Wednesday, when LeBron is supposed to ink the deal.
I think this is a cold, hard lesson for Cleveland fans. Even when LeBron signs the extension, the rumors won't stop. All it will take is a three-game losing streak for the "LeBron might demand a trade" rumor mill to fire up with a vengeance.
We are a smallish city in fly-over country that has someone the New York market desperately wants, and we'd better get used to the fact that they will do everything in their power to pry LeBron away from us.
Every time LeBron wears a Yankees cap in from of the cameras, every time he is seen hanging out with Jay-Z, every time he sets foot in New York, the New York rumor machine will rumble to life.
It would be flattering in a way if it wasn't so intimidating.
Update to the update:
Windhorst has backed off his initial statement, saying Smith likely has a very credible source since he is in town right now.
Widhorst also outlined the reasons LeBron would take fewer years. It apparently has to do with the amount he could make on his next max contract, which would likely be played under the next NBA collective bargaining agreement. I've seen conflicting reports that say that deal expires in either 2001 or 2012.
2011 or 2012. My bad.
