I think this past week was a critical swing in the Blake-Marte third base battle. Blake starts hitting, Marte doesn't, Marte is sent down to Buffalo to make room for another reliever.
Blake is the Tribe's third baseman for the present and future. We all might as well get used to it now.
If there is a piece the Indians want to get at the deadline, be it a veteran power bat or another reliever, my guess is that Marte is out the door as trade bait.
Of course, being traded will virtually guarantee that Marte hits .330 next year with 45 HR, 140 RBI and wins a league MVP award, but that'a another story for another time.
