Clarett to Cleveland?
Maurice is expected to get the axe in Denver, and it's possible that Cleveland, without Lee Suggs, might take a chance. I will just wait for Aaron and Erik to respond to this. My guess is that Erik would rather wear a Johnny Damon shirt to Jacobs Field than see Clarett in orange. I'm guessing Aaron may be more receptive. I certainly would not be opposed to bringing him in, just to see.

If the Browns indeed take a chance on Clarett, i'd like to know, what is the point?
It's not like Suggs has a career-threatening injury. He'll probably be back before the end of the year. If the Browns decide to hold onto Sultan McCullough (Which I think they should do), there are plenty of touches to go around among him, Will Green and Reuben Droughns in the meantime. Keep in mind Terelle Smith is supposed to carry the ball a bit, too.
I"d be much more receptive to getting Clarett if I thought he'd mature. But I think he is so hopelessly self-centered, childish and injury-prone, he'll never reach his potential.
The Browns are trying to build a team-first atmosphere here. Who needs someone whining about conspiracies against him because he thinks he's not getting enough playing time? Because, I am convinced, that is what would happen if Clarett gets mired deep on the Browns' depth chart.

And another thing. Jim Brown's history of contradictions in his life could come back to haunt him if Clarett joins the Browns. Brown was one of Clarett's biggest apologists when he was battling Ohio State to get into the draft. But Brown also professes to have a renewed love for the Browns sparked by his relationship with Randy Lerner.
What would happen if Clarett makes his predicatble enemies in Cleveland? What side would Brown take? Brown has become a major ambassador for this team in the past few years. Would he throw all that away and hurt the Browns just to protect Clarett again? To me, that situation is a fuming gas tank and a lit match waiting to be brought together.

OK, I'm up in a lather now. I need to blog on this. But it might not be before Sunday or Monday.
