Koch
Former New York City Mayor (and Democrat) Ed Koch wrote a scathing article about the celebrity fundraiser held last week for Democratic nominee John Kerry. He criticizes not the performers (at least not directly)but rather John Kerry and John Edwards for sitting and not publicly disagreeing with some of the things said by the performers.
While I agree in principle, I know how hard it is to go against a group of aggressive people, particularly when they are supportive of you. Then again, this guy wants to be president, so that needs to be taken into consideration.
Anyway, Koch is a very good read, even if I don't always agree with him. I don't agree that Dick Cheney's "F bomb" was appropriate for the senate floor, even if I agree with his sentiments.

The media made it sound like Cheney used it DURING the senate... it happened to be rather empty in there, and that's why reporters can't even confirm the exact phrasage. That's why they made it worse than it really was when you read the last line of the AP story: "According to Senate rules, profanity is not permitted in the chamber ... [but] the Senate was not in session so there was technically no foul."

And if Cheney can't use the F-Word, then maybe John F. Kerry should take out the f-in' 'F' in his name.
